Position Summary: The Associate Director, Human Resources will lead, oversee, and administer human resources functional excellence and process improvement, resolving escalated issues impacting human resources internally and cross-functionally. The Associate Director, Human Resources specializes in all areas of HR responsibility and is a trusted business partner that will be responsible for executing people initiatives while providing excellent internal and external service. This position is responsible for keeping IFM abreast of employment laws and industry trends that impact all areas of human resources.
Primary Responsibilities:
Partners with the Chief People Officer to implement organizational strategy and development goals throughout the employee life cycle.
Executes organization wide programs (workforce planning, year-end performance and salary review, organizational change). Works closely with leaders and employees to foster an organizational culture that aligns with the IFM Employee Core Values.
Conducts and documents workplace investigations into unlawful workplace activity, perceived unfair treatment and violations of organizational policies and procedures; draft investigation reports, and produce actionable findings and recommendations in an efficient, thorough, timely and professional manner, in close consultation with the Chief People Officer, the Executive Leadership team and, as needed, with outside counsel.
Monitors, tracks and stewards, annual human capital budget in alignment with executive leadership.
Manages the performance evaluation process; collaborates in the development of performance management tools, delivery and ensures regular feedback is provided to employees.
Manages functional activities of the HR team; setting priorities, creating timelines and providing guidance and support for team members in order to deliver exceptional HR service across the organization.
Identifies annual mandatory and recommended training for staff.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (FMLA, COBRA, AA, ADA, ADEA, etc.) and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
Professional Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification required.
5 years’ experience with increasing levels of responsibility to include a broad HR generalist background with experience in multiple disciplines.
3+ years’ experience leading and managing teams.
Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with quickly shifting priorities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
Knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Adaptability: Demonstrates leadership during change and capable of keeping course during high-paced initiatives.
Accountability & Execution: Ability to take responsibility and demonstrate initiative to plan, prioritize and deliver results on time.
Analytical & Critical Thinking: Must be able to make decisions guided by resource availability and functional objectives.
Ability to assess and apply best practices for change management.
Collaborate: Ability to partner with teammates to create solutions and deliver on objectives. Promotes vision and purpose amongst teammates.
Lead: Ability to lead individuals and teams by providing clear direction, coaching and feedback.
Ability to maintain a high level of discretion with confidential information.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Strong formal and informal presentation skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat; and an HR Information System; willingness and ability to adapt to new technologies, equipment, and software.
